Museum Hopping At The Huntington

13/7/2015

Last week my dear friend Ellen came to visit me in Pasadena. She and I were neighbors when I lived in the Sierra Mountains so I don't get to see her very often. Ellen is a biologist / botanist and photographer so for entertainment we visited The Huntington Gardens and Exhibitions of Art.

The Huntington is absolutely inspiring and awakens one's awareness creating a multi-sensory experience. The Japanese and the Chinese Gardens are incredible. The pictures cannot begin to describe the bucolic landscape settings, colors, fragrances and sounds. The architecture is grand and the art collections include illuminated drawings to European Masters, and periods of Art Deco and Art Nouveau. Their are sculpture gardens, restaurants for high tea, and a newly expanded gift store that is to "die" for.

My friend Ellen and I were pleasantly exhausted after our visit, but left truly inspired with new ideas to explore. Here are a few pictures.
